1452615981_Trumpet&Voice2UIC’s busy jazz program draws the year to a close with a performance by both of our big bands in the theatre mainstage. Enjoy all of your favorite jazz standards as we highlight our graduating seniors as soloists.

UIC’s first official funk band, Flames of Funk, coached by jazz faculty member Chris Madsen, opens the concert. The band studies and performs classic funk repertoire from artists like James Brown, Sly Stone, Herbie Hancock, and others.

Performance in the Recital Hall (L285). Expected duration about an hour and a half. Open to the public. Garage Parking available next door along Harrison street.

Admission: pay-what-you-can (recommended – General $10/ Student $5)
